Corry started the season against Saegertown at Northwestern's Tip-off Tournament. Saegertown took an early lead by finishing the first quarter up 13-10. Scoring for Corry was Lauren Thomas with 6 points, Kaygen Rodgers with 2 points, and Rylee Nickerson with 2 points. In the 2nd, Saegertown went on a run to go up 21-10. Corry, however, went on a run of their own with Grace Allen scoring 5 points, Rodgers with 2 points, and Nickerson with 1 point to end the half down 22-18. After calling a timeout, Corry drew up a play for junior point guard Halle Albers. Once play resumed, the team ran the play to perfection and Albers was able to knock down a 3 from the corner to put Corry within 3 with 40 seconds left. Though Corry fought to the end, it wasn't enough to complete the comeback, falling to Saegertown 40-35.

I'm so proud of these young ladies. They really came out and played tonight and never gave up. I also loved how all eight girls who played contributed offensively. Kaycee Porter and Rodgers each had 2 assists while Allen and Nickerson had 1 each. Nickerson led us on the glass with 5 rebounds, followed by Rodgers and Hasbrouck with 4 each, Albers, Thomas, Allen and Mumau had 3 each, and Porter had 2.  Allen led us in steals with 5, followed by Albers with 3, Nickerson and Rodgers with 2 each, and Thomas and Hasbrouck with 1 each.

We learned a lot from this game and are looking forward to continuing to grow and improve as a team against Reynolds.
